Vicki Rae currently lives and works near White Rock, BC. She received training at the Lorenzo di Medici Art Institute in Florence, Italy in 2001 and attended a design program at Capilano University, North Vancouver, BC a few years later.
She has travelled extensively, which is where the imagery for some of her work comes from. However, she gets the most joy out of painting intuitively, or from a place of raw emotion.
Some particular experiences she draws upon are her travels through South Africa, her stay in Italy, a backpacking excursion along the eastern coast and into central Australia, and from her meanderings around the streets of her home town, Vancouver, BC.
Vicki Rae is a devoted Artist.
Painting is her primary form of expression. She has also recently graduated from Level 1 Formal Ballroom & Latin Dance at
Arthur Murray School of Dance and intends to go on with training. She has been developing her skills as a photographer as well as compiling short films and has an interest in pursuing
animation and story writing.
She has an ever increasing fascination and respect for nature as well as the diversity of people and cultures on our planet. She loves the mysteries of life and explores deeply the spiritual aspect of our existence as well as our commonly shared 'human condition'. Vicki feels driven by a need to communicate to other people and express herself through art- regardless of wether it makes sense to the 'mind'. Her wish is that her work will touch people's heart and soul.
